Mindful real estate

Courtesy of Todd Campbell Custom Homes. Minimalism and creating a mindful living space are becoming more and more popular. We are collectively turning away from busy, stressful home environments in search of a peaceful place to escape from the chaos of the world outside our doors. Mindful living spaces are living areas of the home, like the den, that have an air of harmony, balance, and relaxation throughout them. But how can you turn your crazy, vibrant living room into a serene, quiet space? These four focus areas will lead you down the path to mindful minimalism and restful relaxation. Busy rooms, filled with knickknacks and overflowing with furniture are much more likely to stress you out than help you de-stress. Making some room to breathe is an important first step to creating a mindful living space. Cut down on excess furniture, decorations, and clutter to open up the space. Open the windows when you can, and let some light and fresh air flow through.

Mindful Mission

I'm Kris McLaughlin and I love being a realtor in my community. I live in the same neighborhood I serve and my intention is to elevate your real estate experience. I love partnering with my clients to create a smart, well-negotiated and smooth real estate transaction through a mindful approach. I moved to Phoenix in , which is the same year I started my journey in real estate. It was a big transition going from living in cities like New York and San Francisco and working in publishing to living in the Valley of the Sun and working in real estate. It turns out that my marketing and sales skills from the publishing industry perfectly translated over to marketing and selling homes, while the day magazine publishing cycle mirrored the 30 to day home-buying process. This alignment was no coincidence because once I started doing real estate, I fell in love with it and it was the perfect transition from my old job. To this day, I am grateful for the opportunity that real estate has afforded me in starting a family, connecting with my community, and being able to give back. In I chose to really work on myself personally, through meditation, visualization, journaling, and yoga. I just knew there was more for me to experience within me, and I wanted to discover that.

We bond and connect with fellow real estate agents. Those who can relate to each other's day-to-day interactions and what we deal with in our industry. In I chose to really work on myself personally, through meditation, visualization, journaling, and yoga. I just knew there was more for me to experience within me, and I wanted to discover that. The beauty of it was that not only did I find more joy and happiness within myself during that time, but growing so much personally actually affected my real estate business; the goal I set for the year, I accomplished three times over!

This was such an empowering experience both personally and professionally, so I wanted to bring this mindful lens to the brokerage that I work at. I have covered everything from meditation, intention, and gratitude to communication and the nuances of contract addendums.

At home, I have two amazing sons, Patrick and Owen, and a wonderful husband, Ryan. Ryan is also a business owner, which weaves our family strongly into the roots of our neighborhood. I have worked with a few other realtors over the past several years, and not one provided the level of service that Kris did in representing us. My goal as the Mindful Agent is to partner with you to elevate your experience. After all, this is one of the biggest decisions of your life and you want it to be a beautiful and enjoyable occasion.

Let's get to know each other. My story… I moved to Phoenix in , which is the same year I started my journey in real estate. Identify a thought, habit, behavior or reflex that no longer serves you. Write it down. Honor it. Start with yourself. Go within to understand yourself on a deeper level. Then take intentional action. On your terms.
